American Legion
The American Legion Post 272, a service organization for Veterans, was established on Boyden in 1919. Monthly meetings are held the 3rd Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Legion Building. Members hold annual omelet brunches and organize Veteran's Day and Memorial Day programs. Further details about benefits and membership can be obtained from the following individuals:

American Legion Auxiliary
The Boyen American Legion Auxiliary, an organization for veteran's spouses, was formed in 1924. Monthly meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Legion Building. Further details about membership and benefits can be obtained through the American Legion Post 272.
Boyden Community Club
The Boyden Community Club is an organization made up of members of the Boyden Business Community who meet once a month to discuss community issues. Annual events include the Easter Egg Hunt, Boyden Spring Banquet, Festival of Trees Celebration, Boyden Bash activities. To join the Community club please contact the City Office at 712-725-2371.
Fire & Rescue and Ambulance
Boyden has both a volunteer Fire and Ambulance department. Boyden's volunteer firemen and ambulance members are dedicated to serving Boyden and the surrounding area. Annually the departments have activities for Fire Prevention Week, conduct fire drills with the schools, and give department tours. Annual community fundraisers include pancake feeds and a soup supper. If you wish to become a member of either or both departments please contact the Fire Chief or the Ambulance Service Director.
