Boyden actively promotes the importance of family and strives to provide activities and locations where families are a top priority.
The Boyden Public Library was completed in May of 2003 and provides an environment for people of all ages.
Centennial Park is located on the east side of Boyden. The park, completed in 1989, is complete with playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, walking trail, softball field, shelter houses and campground.
Boyden also has a thriving summer rec program. The children of the community can play softball, baseball, volleyball, and many other activities during the summer months.
Annual community events include a children's Halloween Party, Festival of Trees, Annual Spring Banquet Library story hour, Boyden Bash Summer Celebration, Veteran's Day Program, and many others!
The Boyden/Hull School district provides excellent education for Boyden's youth. Boyden/Hull Elementary is in Boyden - Boyden/Hull High School is in Hull (7 miles west). It's the 6th fastest-growing school district in the state of Iowa.
Active civic organizations that promote a positive influence to the community include the Boyden Community Club, The Boyden Belles Red Hat Society, and the American Legion. Boyden also has a volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and Ambulance Department which serve the community.
